Full-Stack Web Developer 

The BlackBerry Radar team is looking for a full-stack web developer to join us in building technology to disrupt the transportation industry. 

Our BlackBerry Radar product allows logistics companies to connect and manage their fleet in the cloud using state-of-the-art hardware and software, entirely built in-house by our teams.  Our solution allows customers to drastically cut costs and drive utilization efficiencies through enhanced data visualization and reports.  Our services provide location tracking, a host of rich sensor readings, alerts on meaningful events, powerful analytics, integration into third party systems, and much more.  

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic developers to join our team. 

Responsibilities 

  • Participate in end-to-end development of new products and features, from the user interface to the backend server and database schema 
  • Develop server-side functionality using the latest JavaScript features with Node.js  
  • Integrate and use leading tools and frameworks such as NATS, React, Node.js, Elasticsearch, MySQL, Redis, and a host of AWS technologies 
  • Help identify service bottlenecks and develop solutions to ensure high service availability and performance 
  • Write unit and integration tests to continually improve quality and ensure our ability to introduce features at a rapid pace  
  • Planning work using agile methodologies 

Skills and Qualifications 

  • 2+ years of experience working with web technologies, front-end and/or back-end 
  • Strong software development skills using JavaScript 
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, or Redis 
  • Ability to understand and modify systems with high availability and fault tolerance in a microservice architecture 
  • Bonus points for having experience with cloud deployment pipelines and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and AWS ECS 
  • High degree of motivation, sense of urgency, and ability to work in a team environment
