Analytics Architect

CGI is looking for an Analytics Architect to join its growing team in Western Canada to help our customers with their data and analytics initiatives. This position will be located in the Saskatchewan/Manitoba region and is ideal for someone who is looking to take on a challenging role in delivering complex modern analytic solutions. You will lead technical implementation of engagements, including architectural design sessions, specific enterprise cloud & data programs and other initiatives. You will be hands-on crafting data & analytics cloud usage patterns with a solid focus on enabling analytics and machine learning, DataOps, DevOps, as well as modernizing and migrating workloads to cloud.

As a Director Consulting Expert, you are a ‘trusted advisor’ for our clients and will be involved in developing client relationships and business development opportunities. You will also be a point of contact for CGI professionals to develop their domain expertise.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

We help our clients with numerous types of projects covering a variety of different business scenarios including supporting data for machine learning, analytics, business intelligence, data governance. The analytics architect will have the skills to communicate and deliver modern analytic solutions to solve different business problem while building close relationships with both client and CGI team members:

Design, deployment, and management of secure and compliant enterprise infrastructure and cloud architectures using Infrastructure-as-Code
Configure and tune cloud-based tools to manage cost, security, and compliance for the environments
Provide technical direction to team members to develop, test, and implement the solution as per the design and within the specified timelines
Work across a myriad of technology stacks in Azure, AWS, and GCP
Deliver against the strategic roadmap for cloud analytics architecture
Monitor and resolve stability and performance issues
Conduct testing and data reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of current security and operational measures
Authoring and peer review of detailed design and security documentation inclusive of vendor standard methodologies
Ensure standard methodologies and patterns are being implemented for cloud analytic solutions
Coordinate with client teams & engineering teams and other partners to build, monitor, and maintain a secure cloud infrastructure via automation in both production and non-production environments

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent; Masters preferred
10+ Years’ Experience – at least 4 years in a Cloud Solution Architecture and Engineering lead role
Extensive hands-on Azure design and architecture experience including key Azure platform and infrastructure services such as ExpressRoute- Networking- Routing- Azure Policy- Azure Data factory- AKS- ADLS- Snowflake- PrivateLink- SQL database etc.
Experience working within container orchestration solutions such as big query- Docker- Kubernetes- Docker- EKS and/or ECS
Strong hands-on expertise in implementing and architecting scalable cloud solution
2+ years’ experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and orchestration/automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible
Solid experience with IaaS platform capabilities and services (Professional cloud certifications preferred)
Experience working within an automated CI/CD pipeline for release development- testing- remediation- and deployment
Experience with vulnerability management tools and data to ensure provisioning of secure- patched resources
Experience using analytics tools and Elastic Stack for querying- monitoring and alerting
Experience with agile
Expertise in at least one primary scripting language (Bash- Python- PowerShell)
Effective documentation skills including technical diagrams and written descriptions
Familiar with automated orchestration and configuration management
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a professional demeanor
Critical thinking and ability to balance environmental requirements with the mission
