The Early Care and Learning Policy Analyst will independently manage assigned policy development projects focused on the review and revision of existing ministry programs or legislation associated with early care and learning programs for children aged 0 through 8.

The analyst will analyze and draft policy initiatives that support government’s early care and learning strategy, including quality improvements to early learning and support of Kindergarten transitions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below.

• Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Sciences or a related field and a minimum of 1 year of recent and related experience working in the early care and learning sector.

• Experience researching policy issues and conducting policy analysis.

• Experience in concisely and persuasively writing a range of documents/content.

• Experience managing early care and learning projects and/or project components.

Recent, related experience should include one or more of the following:
• Direct experience working with young children in an early care and learning environment (e.g.

a licensed child care centre, StrongStart BC centre, a family resource program and/or a primary classroom setting).

• Experience analyzing information and providing advice and recommendations on a broad range of policy, program and service issues.

• Experience providing policy and issues-management advice and preparing briefing materials.

• Experience establishing effective relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders .

• Experience working with diverse populations including persons with differing abilities and Indigenous populations.

Preference may be given for:
• Completion of an Early Childhood Education Certificate.
