We are dedicated to your success.Job DescriptionOur client at the Department of National Defense (DND) is looking for a Network Security Engineer to work on with their team a long-term (multi-year) program.

The group is responsible for systems management and administration of the Networks used by DSEF.(Directorate Command Support Engineering and Project Management, Software, Engineering, Facilities).

The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of the network system security.The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for the following tasks:Providing technical advice for network security and infrastructure specifically pertaining to but not limited to EIS/COLOC/DSEF networks and any other DND network under system admin and management by the DSEF SETs team under Task 4.Liaising with DLCSPM architects and designers to align network development efforts pertaining to security and infrastructure with DND security policy and procedure requirements.Advising DND and DLCSPM Staff on problem reports, enhancements and associated designs to be considered as part of maintaining a secure network posture for present and future planned networks.Advising on work priority to ensure a stable and robust secure network posture is maintained and approved high-value enhancements are implemented.Participating and advising in technical investigations for improving the network security posture or with regard to any possible degradation/infractions of the security posture.Implementing network security and infrastructure upgrades and repairs, as required.Providing advice and assisting in security qualification activities.Providing advice in the field of system security theory and application.Advising and assisting in representing DND and DSEF regarding network security and infrastructure at various forums, as required.Reviewing Change Requests and associated systems engineering activities and providing advice on impact and technical feasibility/impact on network security and infrastructure.Participating in Steering Committees, Architecture Working Groups, and planning sessions.Providing guidance and advice for the rollout transition of new security capabilities and/or network infrastructure.Providing the DSEF Staff with support and advising on network security and infrastructure capability planning, fielding, training, maintenance, evolution, and Project Management.The Network Security Engineer may also be responsible for Advising on other DLCSPM/DSEF sections on network security.Supporting and participating in DSEF network trials and exercises.Any other tasks as directed by DLCSPM/DLCSPM8 or tier-designated authority.

QualificationsEducation And CertificationsBachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Systems or Electrical or Computer Engineering, or Computer science, or Network Security; or equivalent as determined by the Technical Authority.Network Engineer Certification (CCNA or equivalent).An active Secret (level II) ClearanceCareer Experience4+ years experience as a network manager1+ years experience working as a network/system security engineerAdditional technical experience with as many of the following technologies as possible, in order of priority:Security Monitoring and Incident Response Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Vulnerability AssessmentMS Windows OS SecurityEndpoint Security (McAfee)VPNFirewall config and management Switching/Routing configuration/design Active Directory management and security VMware vSphere and vCenter infrastructure management and security (vMotion, HA, VSAN clustering experience)Microsoft OS (server, workstation) lifecycle, administration, and security Linux OS familyPhysical server and storage infrastructure
