ACTIVITY/RECREATION SUPERVISOR (Full-Time) – Extendicare Mayerthorpe

Candidates are invited to apply for the above full-time position (75 Hrs.

Bi-Weekly) to work at Extendicare Mayerthorpe, a 50-bed long-term care facility, located in Mayerthorpe, Alberta.

RESPONSIBILITIES Plan, organize, direct, and supervise the department program which includes recreational, restorative care, pastoral care, social work, music therapy and volunteers.

Implement and evaluate program relating to the physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual needs of the residents.

Coordinate activities with those of other departments and inform administration of departmental activities, needs and problems.

Develop departmental goals and objects.

Actively participate in program delivery.

Develop, implement, and monitor programming budget.

Satisfy Health Record as they pertain to the department (MDS experience an asset) QUALIFICATIONS Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology or other related field from a community college or university required Knowledge of the concepts of Restorative, Holistic, Activation and Dementia Care Experience in planning, developing, and evaluating effectiveness of individual and group programming for frail, elderly residents using an interdisciplinary approach Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and have a command of the English language.
