Account Director (Networks)

This is a Full-time position in Montreal, QC posted January 15, 2020.

Position Summary

The candidate will be responsible for overall account management and sales of Samsung’s network products and solutions to Service providers in Quebec and Eastern Canada. This is a direct customer facing role. The candidate will be instrumental in driving technical and business discussions leading to successful sales and deployment of our products in LTE / 5G Radio Access, Core Network Functions, and Software solutions. You will manage a team within a matrix reporting structure tasked at deploying and operating our technology solutions for our customers. The position requires technical and business skills in the field of wireless infrastructure and software solutions.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Customer facing role
  • Responsibility for business development activities with Canadian Service Providers, that include:
    • Identify champion and major stakeholders within the relevant organization.
    • You are expected to show leadership, strong focus on financial results, and customer satisfaction.
    • Develop commercial tactics and ensure competitive business/commercial models for RAN, Core and Software Products
    • Provide superior support to win key Deals, through identifying customer pain points, developing the required proposition and articulating Samsung’s services offering differentiators. Successfully orchestrating across Engineering and Product teams and HQ’s Business Support Teams
    • Drive strategic customer engagements in new product areas and work in close collaboration with product teams to grow the business.
    • Act as a single point of contact within the carriers for all business discussions around Samsung product portfolio.
    • Aggregate questions from Carriers and locate the appropriate individuals within Samsung to answer the questions in a timely manner.
    • Manage a high skilled and diverse team of professionals within a matrix reporting structure to ensure on time deployment and industry leading technical support.
    • Oversee the successful implementation and execution of technology trials with your customers.
    • Arrange workshop with customers, set agenda and desired outcomes, aggregate meeting notes and follow up on action points
    • Manage the submission of complex sales proposals (RFI/RFP)
    • Ensures that customer commitments are achieved according to plan.

Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications, capabilities and requirements

  • Min years of experience: 15 years of Experience in Sales
  • Engineering, Math or Science Degree
  • Min 5 years working experience as an engineer within wireless telecommunications
  • Strong relationships within the carrier community in Canada
  • Strong business understanding and strong experience in driving and developing large complex infrastructure and software deals.
  • Good knowledge about the latest wireless technologies and industry trends
  • A hands-on person who has solid understanding of critical industry pain points, who can quickly identify customers pain points and who can defend our proposition to a good technical detail. 
  • Senior presence and experience meeting and negotiating at C-level.
  • Deep understanding of Service Delivery process, models, and strategy.
  • Customer and market insight.
  • Excellent Social and communication skills.
  • Formulating strategies and concepts.
  • Adhering to principles and values.
  • Leading, supervising, and responding to change in a high pace environment.
  • Fluent French and English skills
